The next three months of your pregnancy is called the second trimester, weeks 14-26. As you come into the middle of your pregnancy, many of the early pregnancy symptoms may lighten up or even better, go away.
The second trimester is considered to be the easiest stage of pregnancy because most women will start to regain some of their energy and not feel as sick.
Your belly will grow big enough for everyone to see. You may start to have sleeping discomforts especially if you like to sleep on your stomach and also notice some Braxton Hicks contractions.
During the second trimester You may experience:
- pain in the pelvic area due to ligament stretching
- backaches and leg cramps
- shortness of breath
- skin changes
- weight gain
- stretch marks - yikes!! Get the cocoa butter!
During this pregnancy stage your baby is called a fetus and will be covered with fine downy hair all over his body called Lanugo. Baby's bones are starting to get harder and the ears are starting to look like real ears.
Baby's already moving inside of you even though you may not feel it just yet...but don't worry, you'll soon feel your little ballerina or karate kid!
And before this trimester is over, your little baby will let you know he/she is in there. You should also be able to find out if you're having a boy or girl.
I personally LOVE this pregnancy stage, it's such an exciting time in your pregnancy.
